Skip was born January 30th, 1929 in St. Cloud to Martin and Esther (Muller) Linnemann. He was in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Gloria Thom April 25th 1953 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He was a teacher, coach and principal at Montgomery High School for 14 years. He later was the principal at Hastings Junior High School until his retirement in 1985 and then began Skip’s Sprinklers. Skip and Gloria wintered in Mesa, Arizona and spent their summers on Big Watab Lake near Collegeville. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph and St. Joseph American Legion Post 328. Skip’s many hobbies included golfing, hunting and fishing. He thoroughly enjoyed his life on the lake always with a black lab by his side. Skip welcomed visitors and was a gracious host. He loved his winters in Mesa, Arizona where he often golfed with many friends. He also enjoyed going to the casino and the dog track. It was important to Skip that friends and family in Minnesota were always aware of the current temperature in Mesa. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gloria, children; Mark Linnemann (Maureen) Hastings, Judy Zimmer (Tom) Madison, WI, grandchildren; Michael and Madison Linnemann, and Harry, Sam and Gus Zimmer, brother, Dr. Roger Linnemann, Fort Myers, Florida, brother in law; Urban Keppers, St. Joseph and special nephew Nick Linnemann of Cold Spring. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Iver, and sisters Ruth Knevel and Myrn Keppers.
